About The Sabbatical Diet

"A simple, affordable, non-restrictive scientifically sound diet"

The Ideal Diet - It is the view of many persons that a Universal Ideal Diet does not exist and hence dieting is a personal affair and each person must find what best suits him or her. The Sabbatical Diet shatters this misconception and has not only proved its worth 4000 years ago but is effective and universal in its results today and always. Here are five reasons why The Sabbatical Diet is the universal ideal diet.

Simple - The instructions in The Sabbatical Diet are very simple and can be easily communicated to everyone, both young and old. This diet does not require reading food labels or using a calorie counter.

Affordable - The foods recommended by The Sabbatical Diet are the foods that are available to you and should be prepared in accordance with your preferences. There is no need to acquire special recipes or imported ingredients to make a healthy choice.

Non-restrictive - No food is restricted by The Sabbatical Diet therefore it allows you to find pleasure in eating your favorite foods. Most diets fail because of the restrictions they impose on the quantity or the selection of foods to be consumed. These restrictions create a tension in our bodies over time, which eventually cause us to surrender our discipline and indulge our desires, thus derailing the diet program. The Sabbatical Diet allows for proper nutrition with the added bonus of enjoyment of food which enhances our fellowship with friends and helps us during times of psychological difficulty

Scientifically Sound - The Sabbatical Diet involves consuming food to harmonize with the rhythms of the body. This ensures a proper construction of the body musculature in an appropriate ratio with its fat storage to optimize health. The diet slows the aging process and prevents the accumulation of harmful oxidants.

The Divine Wish - The Sabbatical Diet is the Divine prescription for the care of our bodies. With God's endorsement, the diet is guaranteed to maximize your health and physical well being. It is His wish that His creatures enjoy His creation. Food consumption, like all other areas in life is governed by absolute principles given by God. If these principles are adhered to we will receive the freedom and enjoyment we desire. So, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you."  Matthew 6:33

Foreword of the Book

As you read the book, you will see that it is the good doctor's considered opinion that a number of health challenges could be resolved if individuals would basically do one thing: eat "like a King" six days a week, and "like a pauper on the seventh". Not stopping at common sense, Brother Robert goes on to give both the secular, religious and scientific bases for his opinion. So not only are we treated to a detailed life-science lesson but also to intricate bible study too.

Some systematically trained theologians might balk at his marriage of theology and medicine, but Robbie is, in my view, on good ground here. For he stands in the tradition of those many who believe that the best principles for living can be found not just in religion but in science as well. Thus, though it may seem strange to some, Dr. Robinson is actually reviving a noble strand of philosophical thought and understanding being informed by the faith, one that existed before the tragic divorce (in the Western-dominated traditions) of science from the Christian religion, this in the quest to remove the former from the 'bondage' of the latter, or as it was popularly stated "to liberate the state from the church".

Robert is aware of all this history, but has as his main aim helping persons who live now enjoy more the life God has given them. As a good scientist, he grounds all this in empirical evidence, pointing to the voluntary experiments that a number of his patients have undertaken, and to the success in combating overweight, diabetes, hypertension, and other diseases which he names. He himself was his first patient in this regime, following his own advice, seeking to practice what he preached.

I too am a convert to this regime and am seeing positive results. When, then, I encourage you to buy, read, and apply the book, I am not saying so simply because I am his pastor who is seeking to support his member, but because I believe it can make a difference in the life of those who would wish for better health in body, mind, spirit, and relationship.

I heartily therefore commend The Sabbatical Diet to you, while I congratulate my brother, Dr. Robert Robinson, for making our many verandah talks accessible to a wider audience. To the glory of God."
